Teen Counselling Edmonton

Adolescence is a time of immense change.

Such change can be overwhelming, confusing, and uncomfortable. A battle between being independent and reliant often ensues. Peer pressure becomes a major factor in decision-making, and therefore makes your teens social group incredibly important. With COVID, lots of activities and events that teens usually enjoy have been taken away, leading to feelings of isolation and loneliness.

Is your teen…

  • feeling lonely and isolated? Struggling to make friends and establish lasting relationships?

  • finding school a challenge and appearing to be disinterested in learning?

  • struggling with self-concept?

  • feeling sad, hopeless, or depressed?

  • dealing with worry and anxiety?

  • exhibiting signs of perfectionism?

  • dissatisfied with their body image?

If so, I can help!

Here are a few quick reasons why I might be a good fit for your teen:

Number one – I currently work in a high school as both a teacher and a counsellor. This means I have a lot of inside info on what it’s like to be a high school student in this day and age. Sure, we all have our own memories of high school, but can you imagine navigating it now with social media and cell phones? Not to mention COVID? Not only do I understand the curriculum, I also understand the current pressures facing students in terms of fitting in, getting good grades, and understanding the current state of the world and what this means to them.

Number two – I like to think I am up on the latest trends (thanks to all of that time I spend around high school students on the daily). Can I rap entire Drake songs? Absolutely. Do I know what Anime is? Yep. Am I up on the latest TikTok trends? I mean… can anyone really keep up with all of those?!
