Samson Tshuma (he/him)
Intern Therapist
Samson Tshuma is a dedicated student intern in his final year of the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) program at Yorkville University, and he is excited to join Pineapple Therapy for his practicum. He is passionate about supporting teens and young adults, especially those navigating the intersection of diabetes management and mental health.
Samson is committed to fostering an inclusive, culturally sensitive, and non-judgmental space where individuals can explore life’s challenges, including the emotional complexities of living with diabetes. He works with clients to develop effective coping strategies for managing both the physical and emotional aspects of chronic conditions, including stress, anxiety, and self-esteem concerns.
In his practice, Samson utilizes an integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This approach allows him to address a range of issues, from the pressures of managing diabetes to navigating relationship, career, or personal struggles.
Whether you’re a teen feeling overwhelmed by the demands of diabetes, or a young adult dealing with big emotions, Samson is here to help. Together, you will explore your emotions, set meaningful goals, and uncover your strengths, while building the tools needed to successfully manage both mental health and physical well-being.
